colors appearing to select one data value in list box.......

Hi All,

In selection box or list box having three different colors are appear for selection of one data value like white ,gray and green colors

what is the meaning of white color  appear in selection one data ?
gray color meaning?

and green color meaning ?   

any one explain me plz urgent......

Your selections turn green, the associated data (with your selections) remain white and the unrelated turn gray

green     selected

white     data associated with the selection

gray       data non associated with the selection
