cross table & different format on Y-axis based on user's choice?

Hello, I am new to Qlikview, Here are my two questions.

1) Currently I could have either of following tables to import.

I feel table1 is more like cross table, table2 looks better. is my thought correct?

2) If I go with table2, when I do something like sum(data), as you see in table 2,

some cells are number format, some are currency format.

How could I show correct format on Y-axis (show $ or NOT) when user selects different data type?
