current & previous year

I need to compare the sum(sales) of the current year with the previous one,

How can I do it ?

Something like this:

Current year: sum({<Year = {'$(=year(today()))'>}sales)

Previous year: sum({<Year = {'$(=year(today())-1)'}>}sales)

Replace Year and sales with your field names.
