default sort column in table in the QV server

Hi, QVers,

I would like to fix the sort based on a specific dimension (expression dimension) in a table.

May I know whether the sort setting in the tables in the development can be kept in the QV server?

It seems the server ignore the dimension (expression dimension) that I use to sort the table, and use some other dimension to re-sort the table.

And from a solution mentioned here , it seems I need to create this  expression dimension in the load script and sort it to keep the order, is that correct?

Thanks very much

Zhihong

Hi Zhihong,

It will be best if you sort the table at the time of loading.

But if you want the sort on front end, then please check that the dimension on which you applied the sort is promoted on Top.If not then promote on top.

Hi, Raghvendra,

Thanks for your answer.

Yes, I would like to sort on front end, as it is an expression dimension. I already promote it at the top in Sort tab in the properties. But it dose not work in the QV server side when access the dash from browser.  The table is ordered by the first column in the table.

Hi,

Could you please share your QVW, basically this is not a generic problem.

We need to look into this.
