difference between hierarchy parameters and Belongs to parameter

Hi ,

I was going through qlikview manual and under Hirarchy wizard i am ot able to understand the difference between hierarchy parameters and Belongs to parameter

as parent name and ancestor name means the same then why do we have different tabs for the same job ,plz help me to understand the difference b/w them by

giving an example ...

Hierarchy and HierarchyBelongsTo don't have the same job. See the two tables created by the two different functions in the attached example. Play around a bit with making selections in the two listboxes to see what happens and which records get shown in the two table boxes.
