direct query

I am using direct query to search data . When I am testing this function .After loading , the file  often  appear no response . I must re-start the qvw again  and load again . Whether are any settings for this kinds of  large data ? I am using SR11.20SR5.

Hi Jack,

what is the data source for your direct query? What do you mean with "to search data"?

I am using databases infobright.  I am using direct discovery.  I set up a pivtol table with measure fileds.  After reload ,the qvw file appear noresponse.

You should try with a simple chart with a few dimensions and one measure first. QlikView will fire a lot of aggregational queries against the database after the reaload in the background, at least one per measure...

You means I should always min the table before reloading .

No, I would start with a simple chart to test direct discovery. Probably not with a pivot table..

Now I am testing. I find it is difficult to use because it take too long time or become noreponse. My direct table have 166,877,762 rows data.

It very depends on how fast these direct queries can be processed on the backend database.. You can trace them with the ODBC driver.

How to find the reason when a .qvw file become no-respone  ? My .qvw file always no-respone when I load mass data or a tables with too much data .then I have to stop it and lose all modifications .
