dividing worksheet

How do i divide my worksheet in two halves horizontally.

lets say both the parts should have different colored background.

Use text object with different colors and place them the way you want.

i want to add several buttons and text objects on top and i want that part of sheet with different color but uniform.

using text object with different colors may not serve the purpose, i guess.

You can use the colors you want in text boxes and place objects on top of that.
