dollar sign expansion

Hi,

I am new to dollar sign expansion. I am reviewing an expression which is

=$(=%FieldName) written in the dimension of a chart. I believe its a format of dollar sign expansion but I am not sure what could it possibly mean? can someone please explain what does the expression =$(= mean

hi,

$() sign expansion ensure that.. before executing the entire expression .. the expression inside $() will execute and get the value.
