flexible legends and sums on top of bar charts

Hey all,

I am quite disappointed of the regular options for legens in the standard QlikView diagram. Didn't I find the correct settings? Because currently I just can place the legends on the right side of my chart. Are there any other regular options to place the legend flexible in the chart? Similar to Excel?

And an other issue I am struggeling with is how I can place a Sum of my bar chart values on top of the bars? (Only as a figure) I tried with formulars like Sum(x) + Sum(y) and deactivate the "bar" option, but then I can't show only a figure ... ?!

Thanks for replys!

BR

If you want to move the legends to the left, upper or bottom part of the Chart object,

Select your chart by clicking it and hold CTRL+Shift this allows you to move/align the Legend and grid part of the object

If you just want to show the value of a bar on top of it checking "Values on Data Points" on the expressions tab for that expression should be enough. (There is also an option to put the values on top or inside the bar that is found on the presentation page.

Thanks a lot! That solved my first problem!

I exactly would need both If I activate the option on the presentation page in "values on data points" I see the values inside the bard chars (I want this!) and if I deactivate the option, I see the sum of all values on top of the bars (I want that, too) So how can I manage to get both?

Thanks!

If you want both the you might get it to work as a combo chart with 1 expression showing as bar, another (same expression) as symbol but invisible, turn on values on data points for both and select values inside, (possibly you may need to turn of show legend if you don't want that)

Maybe I should have added that I work with stacked bars ... so there are several bars on top of each other and in every bar is a value. So in addition to that I would need one Sum of all stacked bars on top of the uppest bar ... is this possible?

We are actually working on a new option for stacked charts, to both show the values for individual segments inside the bar in combination with the sum of the stack on top, I think it will make it into our next service release (11.20 SR11), I can't think of a way to do it before then.
