gauge, 2 expressions, colors not equal

I have multiple expresions in 1 gauge. I change the expression with the conditional function.

The label text is set to a color but if I change the expression this color falls back to the default gauge label color.

Is this as designed or is there a setting?

changing the color in the expression Text color  definition doesn't help.
