help with drill down

Hello ! I am trying to create a chart that drills down from industry to category.

Here is my chart:

But the problem is, when you click on any of the industry, (e.g. IT) instead of showing the categories in IT, it continues to show the industry instead:

How to i get it to show the categories under IT (i.e. Manufacturing and Services) instead of just showing IT as a bulk

Note: i have only used qlikview for about an hour and have to use it for an assignment, so please use simpler terms

Hope you have first created the drill down group and then added that as a dimension.

Hope you are using the Industry(Drill Down) Field as Dimension instead of just Industry Field.

Hi Jodie,

As per the images I see you are not using the drill down group in "Chart properties >Dimensions tab >Used Dimensions" Can you verify that.

Hi,

I guess the reason for this behaviour is that you used a group name that already existed as field name (Industry).

QlikView doesn't seem to like this ambiguity:

When selecting a group as dimension in a chart, the icon next to the group name in the "Used Dimensions" section of the Dimensions tab suggests a group, while the icon disappears after closing and reopening the properties if there exists a field with the same name. Adding a group to the "Used Dimensions" section also deletes fields sharing the same name from the "Available Fields/Groups" list.
