As Sasi says, it depends on your setup.
You can have an applikation that reads directly from e.g. a database and in that case you only have 1 file. You have also have a scenario where you have a QVW file that load from your srouce into QVD files- then a datamodel file that reads the QVD files into a Datamodel file and then one or more Application files that reads from the Datamodel.
If you then also load variables and other supporting tables from script files then you can end up with a lot of files.
