Hi,
I am trying to find where a reference to a file is been read in a qvw.
simple search for the file name on qvw says the reference is in the qvw.
but when open up the qvw...look at the scripts... There is no mentioned.
Just wondering does a tool exist to read the meta-data as the qvw is a binary file.
Thanks
justin
Can you be more specifi like what you are trying to do?
There is tool from qlik for collecting meta data from the entire QVPR and i guess there should be somthing to collect log files too.
just wondering stand-alone tool to view qvw/qvd without opening up and reading each script. would be better if script could be extracted for ease of checking contents.
Just to view qvd, without pulling into qvw you can install 'qvd viewer'.just google it up.there are few other 3rd party tools that help us to see what data is in a qvd without loading it into a qvw.
would be better if script could be extracted for ease of checking contents. - Not sure about this.never encountered a situation.some others might be able to help you on this
What I was looking for command line tool to read the .qvw in readable format.
such as the specific document settings. Some have variables which are hard-coded file paths.
So just wondering if that kind of meta-data can be extracted from a command line tool.
You can try 'document Analyser'.it can answer most of your questions.but this tool doesnt answer some metadata related problems. but its worth giving it a shot.
