how to secure qvd files

Hello

I got qvd files that contain sensitive data

I don't want any user with qlikview client to select data from these qvd files

Only one user has the right to read data from these qvd files

Is there a way to secure these qvd files?

Please advise!!

I can walk on water when it freezes

Hi Ali,

That's a operating system issue. You should move the QVD files to a folder where only certain users are granted access, and denied to anyone else. QlikView does not have any protection system and relies on the operating system to do that.

Actually, is always a good practice to differentiate Backend files (QVD, test files, and so) from Frontend (what users actually are able to see and use).

Hope that helps.

With Active Directory you can give users access to QVW's through the AccessPoint, so only users allowed can see the QVW's.

When you say the QVD's are available for more users and only 1 is allowed to -- also this is an Active Directory issue as mentioned by Miguel Angel Baeyens.

Actually everything about secure for complete files goes through the OS.
