linken van de access database uit de tutorial gaat fout.

Hallo,

Ik ben nieuw hier en kan in het forum het antwoord niet vinden.

Ik heb QlikView versie 11.20 personal edition geïnstalleerd en ben me nu door de Tutorial heen aan het werken.

Op pagina 175 staat hoe ik een MS-Access database moet gaan koppelen.

Maar, als ik dit doe krijg ik de foutmelding: "Microsoft Data Link-fout, De bewerking kan niet worden uitgevoerd omdat er een fout is opgetreden bij het maken van een verbinding met het stuurprogramma."

Als ik vervolgens op "O'K" klik om het scherm te sluiten en nogmaals omdat het vorige scherm te sluiten, krijg ik een andere foutmelding:

"ErrorSource: Microsoft OLE DB provider for ODBC drivers, ErrorMsg: [Microsoft][ODBC-stuurprogrammabeheer] De naam van de gegevensbron is niet gevonden en er is geen standaardstuurprogramma opgegeven."

Het vinkje plaatsen in '32 bits afdwingen' geeft geen resultaat.

Ik heb een laptop met 64 bits, Windows 7.

Ik vermoed dat het met mijn instellingen voor ODBC te maken heeft vandaar de volgende afbeelding.

Wie kan mij helpen?

Have you installed on your computer Access Driver? If Not you have to, otherwise check the 32-64 version

Thank you for your quick reply.

I already tried to solve this by installing the 64 version from this site:

If that is what you mean by the Access Driver, than I already tried.

(BTW, I could only install the 64 bit version because I have 64 bit W7 on my laptop)

I just found out it's another error in the tutorial.

You should not choose for 'OLE-DB Provider for ODBC-drivers' as the Tutorial states, but choose for 'Microsoft Jet 4.0 OLE-DB Provider'

If you look closely at the screenshot on the next page you can see that the one who made the tutorial did also!!

It is important that you use the right ODBC - 32-bit or 64-bit. Unfortunately Windows has made this really confusing; it is not clear which one you open when you open it from the Control Panel. So, advice no 1: Open the ODBC Administrator from the QlikView Script editor.

Secondly, in the ODBC administrator, it is the same with the "User DSNs" ("Gebruikers-DSN"). Confusing, confusing. So, advice no 2: Define all your data sources as "System DSNs" ("Systeem-DSM").

When you have done that, all you need to do is to make sure that you generate the correct CONNECT string. CONNECT32 for 32-bit and CONNECT64 (or CONNECT on a 64-bit OS) for 64-bit drivers.

Your answer clears up a lot of my questions.

But, in this case was not the answer to this particular question.

If I go to Tools in my screen I can only choose for 'ODBC Administrator 32 bit' because 64 bit is grayed out.

Anyway, thanks for your contribution.
