hi all,
above is my expresson when ever i select the section or presentabsent list box , the dept list box shd all values which shd be active always
that means when ever ection or presentabsent list box the dept list box have exclude the section,
wht is the expression , above i used but it no useful
I am not sure I understand what you are trying to get. Would you be able to elaborate a little more?
when ever i select the section or presentabsent list box, the dept list shd always have all values that shd be active. this the dept list shd be independent from the section or presentabsent list box. pls dont tell alternate state, tell suggestions in expression itself
So you mean regardless of any selection in section of presentabsent, all values should be available for selection within dept? I guess if not the alternate state, then you need a Island Table.
example if u select the sec1 in the list box the dept list shd have all dept as active, since it show only IT, so the reamining dept such that cse ece shd be active in dept as IT
island is not possile since it dynamic from the table
to exclude the selection i use the below expression but its not working

sunny can you reply me
Sure bro, what you are trying to do is not possible AFAIK. The only two ways I can think of is to use alternate state or create a dept field which is associated with all combination of Section and PresentAbsent field (Cartesian Product)
can u send me sample file for the (Cartesian Product)
