macros - exporting text from a straight table to excel
Hi everyone,
I was suggested that to keep text in a users inputfield even after a new release would be to create a macro which exports data to a spreadsheet so that it is stored there and will appear in the new release. My knowledge of macros is extremely limited so I'm not sure where to start. Would anyone be able to give me a point in the right direction so I could then try and complete this?
About a month ago someone uploaded such a file here on the forum. Looked very nice but I can't seem to find it when searching now. It was a financial report with invoices where you could save comments to file.
Take a look at "Config.xml Manager" - it's one of the shared QlikViews, under "Partners in Action" section. Not precisely what you are asking for, but can serve as an example of how to save Input Field values into a text file - in this case, an xml file.
