present text values with filtering on dimension

We did a little survey. Answers on several subjects are strings

Now I want to display tables or charts for every subject(=dimension) presenting the answers.

However : 1.In a table box I cannot filter on dimension

               2. In a chart, text values can not be used as expression  (isn't it ?)

Any advice would be appreciated
