qlikview personal edition installation and opening document

hi team

i have a doubt regarding qlikview personal edition:

i created a document on personal edition and send it to other team member ,and he was able to open my file

but i didnt get it ,how it is possible??

no he is not having the license

he is not having any license ,just the same personal edition only,

though when he opened the charts were blank only,but the point is at first how he ws able to open the document.

Every PE Desktop gets 4 recovery attempts. These are intended to recover your own documents when your situation (or platform) changes. Your colleague may have used one attempt by opening your document.

Ask your colleague whether a dialog was shown indicating use of a recovery attempt when opening your document.

PS Do not do this! To exchange documents, buy or lease a license. If you keep using your recovery attempts, QlikView Desktop PE will sooner or later lock you out of all your documents.

Hi Shivali,

QlikView will accept 4 user key changes in a document. After that, you will get the error message “Key length has reached its maximum” and the document will not open any more. The only possibility is to recreate it from scratch.

So,might be you have exceed the limits to open the documents.

Hi..

Actually QVW file generates some personal key which makes that file personal, but you can use that file four times from four different systems after that no one can use this file, you can try this.
