"All Users" and "All authenticated users"

Hi All,

In the "Distribute" tab in QMC we will add the user in our domain by selecting Named Users.

Pleaes could you explain what is the use of "All Users" and "All authenticated users" and what is the difference between them.

Thanks,
Sijo

"All Users" means that all people on the world are authorized to open this document (7 billion CALs needed)

"All Authenticated Users" means that only (but all of them) previously authenticated users are authorized to open this document. This translates to "All known users". E.g. everybody registered in AD for example.

In QMC there is a common technique to dsitribute documents to "All Authorized Users" by default, and decide which ones will be granted access by assigning Doc CALs to only a specific set of Users.

In your case, you'll have to maintain both a list a Doc CAL assignments, AND a separate distribution list.

Joseph,

In simple words:

All Authenticated Users means only those users which you want to access the document not  everyone .

All Users can be anyone .

Thanks,
