I have a developing server and a production server.
I noticed now that when I click in a chart the "Send to excel"- icon on the developing server I get options like this image
However when I try the same on the production server I get this message :
Excel is not installed on one of the servers, so I assume that it must be a setting, but I don't know where to find it.
What setting do I have to change ?
We are using Qlikview May 2021 SR1
I think it's not related to Qlik else to Windows and I could imagine that the releases, user-settings and also group policies and similar stuff are differently.
Releases do not differ, user settings and group policies are hard to compare. Probably settings for downloading are not the same. As far as I can see a function of Internet Explorer starts on the developer server. On both servers Internet Explorer are installed and I cannot find any differences between the settings.
Allthough it is not directly Qlik-related I hope someone knows what setting I have to change.
Settings for "default apps" are equal.
Send the same question to our IT-department 🙂
What happens if you don't use the IE else a current browser? The IE is outdated and not supported anymore from MS and Qlik and if further available within your environment the tool may be disabled and/or restricted in some way.
In the short-term you may find any way to use further the IE but it will have no future and therefore switching to Edge (which also provides an IE-mode) or another browser might be easier as remaining in the past.
In the end i found the cause of this problem. On the production server no program was associated to an excel file. Changed that ...problem solved.
