showing £ on an axis

Hi,

This may be a really sily question so apologies if it is.

Want the X Axis on a chart to show as £20,000, £40,000 etc rather than 20,000, 40,00 as it does currently.

What is the chart option or what do I need to do to get this to work?

Any help much appreciated.

Chris

Hi Chris, good question, one way of doing this is to go to properties->presentation->text in chart. You can then add the currency code and drag it to the desired axis using Ctrl+Shift. Use 270 as the orientation. See example below.

Thanks for all your replies but little confused about to action them.

Just want to change the axis to show number in figures. The figures were wanting to show isn't a dimesnsion. It's an expression and plus not sure how this determines the axis.

Hi Chris, you will not be able to get a currency symbol next to each value on the axis (the figures in the above chart are also an expression - their are no dimensions in that chart.). You can however label the whole axis with the currency symbol and add more descriptive information as shown above. You can also get a symbol on top/at the end of each axis by entering the symbol on the properties->number-> symbol field. If you enter the required symbols for thousands/millions etc these will also change dynamically based on the values in your expressions. Hope this helps clarify things.

if you want the symbol and formatting on the axis, you can go to the numbers tab and for the expression, format where it has the symbol, thousand symbol, million symbol

Chart Properties > Number > Add your symbol under Symbol, Thousand Symbol, Million Symbol.

For example: £, £K, £M
