sorting in line chart

I am using a line chart in which I have dimensions D1, D2 and an expression E.

I want to sort D2 using a logic other than 'E'. I tried to write that logic in the the sort tab but still the dimension is getting sorted on value of 'E'.

Any other way of sorting the expression?

I think sorting done first based on expression then based on your sorting criteria

Try to give the sorting condition is D2 in sorting tab

Hi Paul,

I do think you can sort by D2 only. I think you can just try unchecking all the checkboxing and leaving the expression one checked. All the other dimensions should have all their checkboxes unchecked. Please see below

Use Promte/Demote option under Sort tab and make the dimension in first position (based on you want to sort)  and uncheck all the sorting checkbox for expression.

I have done that only. Please check the attached screenshot.Untitled.png

There is no option of Promote/ Demote in Sort Tab. I think that comes in straight table only.

does it work if you change the sort order to say state /descending/ascending?

may be you have an error in your expression perhaps?

To promote the dimension, you will have to promote in the dimensions tab.

I converted the same chart to line chart and it was showing correct result. So I don't think there is any error in expression.
