A Star Schema is the generic way of implementing a Dimension Model if you don't have a BI/Analytics product that has a special optimized OLAP-engine. Star Schema is quite straight-forward to implement in a table-oriented database like a relational database or like QlikView / Qlik Sense too.

There some good books covering the topic:

- Star Schema

The Complete Reference - by Christopher Adamson

- The Data Warehouse Toolkit 3rd Edition

The Definitive Guide to Dimensional Modeling - Ralph Kimball & Margy Ross
