I want to show top5 vendor spending for the last 12 months, so the dimension will be month and vendor and the expression is the spending.
If I use the dimension limit to show the largest 5 vendors, the condition will be on each month, which means the top 5 vendors for each month will be shown, but I only want to show the total top5 windows for the selected months’ total, any idea how to achieve this? thanks
hi
it's actually quite simple
in the dimension limits tab
you need to check in the inner dimension (vendor in your case)
the box of Global grouping mode
then it will calculate the top 5 disregarding the time dimension
this is stated in the help:
"Global Grouping Mode
The option only applies to inner dimensions. When this option is enabled the restrictions will be calculated on the selected dimension only. All previous dimensions will be ignored. If this is disabled, the restrictions are calculated based on all preceding dimensions."
