Hi All,
I am having some .xlsx files feeding into qlikview.
When I reload my dashboard it is unable to read the excel file.
I need to open & save the excel file & then qlikview is able to read it.
I have around 25 excels feeding into qlikview and need to manually open & save everytime before refreshing my dashboard.
please help ...
means? after reload what error your facing?
can you share one sample excel file? to test ?
Hi Nitya,
Are you using an ODBC connection to open the Excel file? Table files is a wizard to open and load some of the most usual file types, such xls or xlsx. The ODBC is completely different, and treats the Excel file as a database actually generating a SQL statement to pull data from the file.
If you use the Table File button you will not have any Database Field because you are not loading from a database.
-Siva
Hi Nitya:
Adding to Siva, you can also select "Relative Paths".
-- Shafi
That should not normally be necessary. Are the files secured using Excel password security? Are you reading from a source such as Sharepoint or FTP? Are the files stored as binaries?
No ,I Do not use odbc connection to open my excel.
I use the table files options as mentioned above
These are .xlsx files that get exported from SAS software .
My guess is the problem is that .If I open these exported .xlsx file on my desktop & save them and then reload all is fine
