Sorry Anil, but that is not correct. WebView has been there also in version 10 and before.

Different thing is that there could have been bugs related to how WebView functions.

Please read the documentation for the different versions (11.00 IR, for example).

Thanks for your bullet, I thought so same

I am happy to share my experience/story with one and all, When i was in 9th Version The Web-view is really harassed me. So that, I have raised the ticket to IT Team for upgrade and then they upgrade to 10. Still i am facing same issue so then again i've raised the ticket with IT team. That time QV11 is released. So, I am trying to push them to upgrade. I don't know why customer didn't suppose to me. May be they didn't trust on me of there Investment. So that, One day i need to create one extension of crucial stage. So then they came to know the point then they trust me so they moved to 11.20 SR5. Then only Wen view working like a charm as they expected. Finally i thought to come out It may work only >= 11.2 Versions. That is the reason I've kept is as dam sure. Any how i love to know explode myself may be my fault here. But, i doubt whether we do have Before of 10 version is accessible of Web view. You may use < 10 earlier. Thanks for that.

Finally, Yes I had read that IR version. I am thinking IR version won't support Web view instead of SR. So finally, I was feel i may think very well that day

Always ready to know if you like to add few points. Thanks Again "Miguel"

how i make sure whether or not running as administrator the WebView works?

Miguel_Angel_Baeyens

It is a requirement as per the release notes which you can find on the download site or here on the Technical Bulletin space. If it does not work either, could be related to version, as Anil was pointing out, could be because browser settings that do not allow javascript execution.

From the Release Notes, among others related to WebView:

  • On systems using UAC (Windows user access control), WebView may require that QlikView is started using the “Run as Administrator” option.
  • Macros will not function in WebView.

In short, the only way is testing it.

also i start qlik with Run as Administrator options and doesnt work

Miguel_Angel_Baeyens

Then you need to check with Qlik Support and see whether your environment (operating system, browser, etc.) are supported or not and if yes, and it is a QlikView problem, they must know to fix it.

Very likely, they will request you to test with the latest available version of QlikView, which is 11.20 SR16

Found this thread searching on a deactivated webview, after a desktop client upgrade to QV 12 SR4.

As Miguel suggested, running desktop as Administrator immediately restored the webview functionality, and closing re-launching without specifically elevating to Administrator still allows webview in later sessions.

Thanks for solving this particular disruption Miguel!
