I am not sure what 'extended' set analysis should be, could you tell us where you have encountered this wording?

I think the word 'extended' is just used to amplify the complexity of the function. By complexity i mean doing a lot of things in one expression. There is nothing as extended set analysis per se.
You should be able to find plethora of things online by just typing 'Set analysis qlikview'.
