My understanding was that Analyzer was a server user (using Plugin/AJAX/Java) whereas Analyzer+ meant that the user had an installation on their PC.

This distinction really went away with v8.2 when you could start to borrow the CAL from the server onto a local install anyway. It is well gone now in v9 when any local install becomes a full developer when they borrow the CAL.

Hi Richy,

AFAIK Analyzer+ is or better was an Analyzer with only additional Reload-Feature, I don't know whether it's available any more.

Whether we will be able to open a local QVW file with anlalyzer/analyzer+ from version 9 onwards. Or is it mandatory to have a qlikview server installed to do analysis using Analyzer.

Hi,

If you have an analyser license key, I believe that you will still be able to apply that to a local version - you would need to test it. Without a key, you need to get a license from a server for which you will need a CAL.

If you have no license - Personal Edition - then you can create and analyze as many documents as you want - you just won't be able to share them with anyone. Also, you won't be able to open ones created by other users.

Regards,

Stephen
