It is possible manoj. Simply make the connection from your datasorce and load the requaired data in QV.

After that start developing your application.

Yes it sure is.

Simply load the data you want on your dashboard qvw in its load script from its source location.

I often use this for piloting new things, but use QVD's for production.

Yeah it is possible but you know Qlikview works in memory . like you have a few tables having millions of rows so without creating qvd's  you load all data into ram which could be slow down the speed but reading data from qvd compress the data upto 80% instead of loading data from your datasource so, may be for my opinion you have to first store data files in qvd then fetching data from qvd. and make a dashboard to increase the speed for data visualization

Hi Manoj ,

It is possible to develop a app without Qvd.

But without Qvd ,Qlikview is nothing. we can develop same app in Excel. any other tool more attractively.

Because of Qvd technology only Qlikview is more famous and IT companies are using it.

With out Qvds ,If you want to develop an qlikview app ,You can use another tool,Why qlikview.

Hope you Understand..

As everyone has suggested, you can create a qlikview app without qvd by directly loading the data from source/database by establishing connection.

But this may cause severe performance issues not only during incremental load but also at the time of normal reload as well as it will have to hit the database again and again.

Hi, Manojqlik.

Is there any particular reason why you do not want to use a qvd ?

I ask this question in case you have some underlying problems with your QlikView set up.

Neil
