Can we replicate the functionality of prompts in Qlikview

I have a requirement where in we are building reports and dashboards in Qlikview over HANA DB. Since both work on in Memory functionality , we are looking at not bringing the complete data in Qlikview and use the Direct Discovery feature. We are looking at the possibility of replicating the prompt feature of Business Objects reporting tool  so that while running the report, only the selected data is retrieved from HANA. I know this feature is not available in QV but is there a workaround to achieve the desired results ?

Using direct discovery we can achieve this...

You can get a basic Idea how to incorporate the Direct Discovery concept in your application.

I tried with DD , but there is no direct method to replicate prompts. Also I have SP6 on my machine which allows only one view to be read using DD and the prompt figures are coming from different views. But the report is built on multiple views so we have to do a union at DB level.
