Communication with Licence Enabling Server

Hi All

We currently have 4 Developer licences and one has become redundant, i have installed qlikview 8.5 on a new member of the teams laptop and am trying to licence it but im getting "unable to connect to the licence enabling server".

When this has happened before it has just been a case of confirming access through the firewall and making sure that the internet connection is running correctly on the mechine.

I have done the above and also ensured that none of the other users have transposed their licences to the one that we are trying to use to make sure its not that, but i still get this error message, furher to this i have also tried disabling all of the other network connections (wifi etc) to ensure this is the only connection path to the internet, and also reinstalled the application making sure that the registry has been cleared and no install files have been left on the mechine.

Currently none of this seems to be working and i cant see any options within the current settings that are stopping the connection to the internet to confirm the licence.

Has anyone else had problems with this and if so could you please advise how to resolve this one please.

Many Thanks

Paul Ferguson

Please request the LEF from your Account Manager.

You'll need to provide them with the Licence Number so that the Licence Administrators can extract the LEF and email it to you.
When you have the LEF, you can apply it to QlikView as follows:

-----

Start QlikView

Choose Settings > User Preferences > License

Click Change

Enter Licence Key, Control Number, Username and Organization

Click Next

Now QlikView tries to contact http://lef1.qliktech.com/ (failover to http://lef2.qliktech.com/)
to find where to validate the Licence and retrieve a LEF. If this is not accessible, then you
will be prompted for what action to take, and can enter the LEF manually.

Choose Help > License Update…

You can paste the LEF into this field.

The first line of the LEF is the same as your Licence Number.

The last line of the LEF is validated using your Licence Number and Control Number
to verify that this is a valid licence and has not been altered.

You need to be able to connect to http://lef1.qliktech.com/ or http://lef2.qliktech.com/ without a proxy. Alternatively if you have the Licence Enablement File (LEF) you can licence QlikView without connectivity.

Hi there,

I have connected to the licence server through a proxy and had it work fine. It may simply be that the QlikTech server was having a bit of trouble at the time. Have you tried again subsequently?

Cheers,
Steve

I have the same problem. How do you get the Licence Enablement File?

Hi,

I have the LEF information (without the Control NO), and I am facing the following issue,

1. Please let me know how can I get the QlikView License registered without Control No?

2. As I am sitting in proxy network, how is it possible to register the License without connecting to QlikTech Server?

You can't licence anything without the Licence Number and Control Number.

You'll need to speak with your Account Manager to get these.

Thanks for reply.

I got the Control no.

So using Licence key,Control No. and LEF file I'm able to register the QlikView Licence successfully without connectiong to Internet. Smile
