Copy/Paste doesn't work - Copy/Paste No funciona

Hi all,

In all times developing in QV(since 3 years), i had this fool issue: Sometimes, copy/paste simply doesn't work.

I've tried with ctrl+c ctrl+v, right mouse button, menu... in W7, Wxp, Wserver 2005, 2008...  in laptop, pc, terminal...  but it just happens sometimes.

Do everyone has this situation?

Thanks!!

Hello Sebastian,

According to your scenario what i can assume is your Sheet Properties settings are not tune.

Sheet Properties> Security tab > Check Copy Clone Sheet Objects.

Apart from this in Chart Properties> Layout Tab > Check Allow Copy/Clone to each objects of your QVW.

Thanks

Advait

Thanks for your answers!

But is not my case. I not only cannot copy/paste objects, it happens in script, text box, anywhere... Imagine you are working on a PC where the CTRL key doesn't work, when you try to copy / paste, it doesn't work anywhere!, not only with the objects... Ok, it happens to me in QV, but not only when I try to copy with keyboard, it happens with all the ways you could copy and paste an object, text, or anything else.

Hi,

I have the same issue. However, if I try Copy-Pasting on Notepad/MSWord and try Copy-Pasting back on a Qlikview application, it works, but only for sometime. I can't seem to get my head around it. I don't think that this is an issue with the clipboard as it works fine for non-Qlikview applications. Does QV have an internal clipboard? Do let us know if anyone has faced similar issues and found a way.

Thanks,

Pritam

Sebastian,

I have the same issue (Ctrl-C or Edit->Copy has no effect when editing a script). Did you manage to fix this yourself?

I recently moved to Windows 7. I know it worked before the move but I can't be sure if I've tried to copy/paste in Qlikview since. Maybe it's a Qlikview problem running with Windows 7. I'm running Personal Edition 10.00.8811.6 SR1

I have the same problem in Windows 7 SP with Qlikview 11.20.12664 SP9.
My colleague has Windows 8 and was using Qlikview through citrix with no issues. I think he ended up installing on his machine for some reason and he now gets the same issue(I will double check this with him).

Workaround:

1) I have found if you select the text you want to copy and CTRL+C a few times, it works. Normally Twice is enough.

2) If you select the text and right click, then copy then right click the selected text a second time and copy again, this also works.

3) Sometimes I have found I have to Ctrl+C 5 times to get it to work, so I have got into the habit of Ctrl+C 5 times then paste over the selected text to make sure its in the clipboard, then paste in the destination. This works the best.

Although this doesn't fix the problem, it works around it until its fixed.

UPDATE:

Checked with my colleague and he is using Windows 8 Qlikview 11.20.12129.0 SR4 and the problems started when he installed Qlikview to his local machine. This was so he did not have to be connected to the firms network to use Qlikview via citrix as he wanted to learn more about Qlikview in his own time.

Hello Advait,

I have this issue where I can't copy objects in the same QlikView application. I have checked all the pre-requisites:

Sheet Properties> Security tab > Check Copy Clone Sheet Objects.

Chart Properties> Layout Tab > Check Allow Copy/Clone.

Document Properties> Layout Tab> Allow Copy/Clone.

Tried Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V

But still I can't copy the objects.

Hi Deepti,

To assist you on this issue, May I know what version of QlikView are you using ?

Regards

Advait
