Current Selection behavior while export xls

Hi All,

I have an island table in my data model, and used the field in a button's action to show the value in current selection. it is displaying the right value in current selection based on the button's action, but when I export any chart to xls, only the selection from island table is missing, if I export the straight table into xls then the selection from island table also exported to xls.

is it bug or do we need to apply any other properties to export the island table's selection into xls for any object?

Can you attach a Demo app, also if uncheck  the option Setting->User Preference->Export

Un check the option On Biff Exports .

If I uncheck the option 'On Biff Exports', then the current selection will not be exported at all. but i need the current selection to be exported with all the selection listed out there. for both graphs and tables.

I have attached the sample application. if you click the button, then the from island table one field will be selected but it is not coming in xls when we export to xls

Hi i am using QLIKVIEW 11 sr1 and is working fine according to your scenario

that is it export both button action selected field and any other selection in any other field of current selection box

to xls of any  chart /object
.

which qlikview version are you using

can you go and check with any other Qlikview  version with sample data in your desktop?

Hi Sadick,

I am not sure but as per my experience I can give you a Overview of Qlikview behavior.

The field you are selecting didn't create a filter on any chart you created as it is not linked, so if you select 'Current Year ' from Yearselection list box it will not filter any of your chart and so as default when any chart send to excel it will not pop out as that filter doesn't made any impact on the chart.

where as  if you select any other field let say "Year" and this will effect the chart and if you send that to excel your selections will pop out.

You can create a Simple Table with all fields and then click button and send the data of the Table to Excel, you will see the the selected field will come up. because this simple Table will create a Cartesian product and will filter the data of that Table.

I am not getting your Point, Do you mean when you click Button and send data to excel  from Chart/Straight table you get the Selection status ???

Selection Status:
Yearselection: Current Year

I don't think it's possible please confirm may be I am wrong in this.
