Data Reduction in AccessPoint

I have a need to publish a document with reduced data for some users and full data for other users.  When i have 'Strict Exclusion' unchecked, all users can see everything in Access Point, but when i check 'Strict Exclusion' the users that should see reduced data are denied access to the document altogether.

Do anyone know what  I should be looking at?

Ashley,

Can you try the fully qualified NTName?  For example replace 'acasselman' with 'mydomainname\acasselman'.  You will have to put your domain name in the place of 'mydomainname'.

I have tried that before and the result was the same as without the domain name.

I did see in an earlier post that you said you used the domain/username.  I just wanted to make sure you were using the correct syntax which should be domain\username.

The service account is the account the QlikView services are running under. This account has to be in section access and has to be an ADMIN and the Group left blank.

OH, yes, i have the service account listed in the users.  I didn't have the group blank, so I changed that and reloaded but my restricted users are still denied access to the document.

Do you have your service account information set up correctly in QEMC (System -> Setup -> Distribution Services -> Advanced     -> Username and Password are set up and correct in the Section Access section)?

As far as I can tell it is correct.

Hi,

Wanted everyone to know I am working with Ashley off line. It appears this might be a server configuration issue. I will keep everyone posted.

Thanks Bill.  It will be interesting to see what the issue was.

Hi Bill,

We also experience the issue very similar (or almost identical) to that of Ashley Casselman experienced (http://community.qlik.com/message/520034.

Our users have the issue when trying to open the QVW via Access Point (got error: Failed to open document, You don't have access to this document). If I have them opened the QVW  by using QV Client installed in their computer, they can open it with reduced data as expected (Since they're "USER" and not "ADMIN").

I have my own NTdomain account added as "ADMIN" with full access, but cannot open the file via AccessPoint (but can do so if I use QV Client). It seems the only user who can open it via Access Point the "QV Service Account".

Just wondering if there's a solution already found for it, and would you mind sharing it, preferably to the same post?

Note: I'm not sure if Ashley uses Publisher, but we do. So the QVW files shown on Access Point has been published/distributed by Publisher).

Thank you,

Anton
