Data modeling (vertical vs horizontal)

Hi,

i am currently starting a new project and i was looking first at my data sources and i need to choose the appropriate data model for my dashboard.

my current situation is that i will end up having a schema that is big vertically or Horizontally (in number of expressions), for example i might have

CountryStoreTransfer In Transfer OutAmount InAmount Out
LebA10-101500-1500

or

CountryStoreMovementFlag
LebA10TransferIn
LebA-10TransferOut
LebA1500AmountIn
LebA-1500AmountOut

to note that my data model will consist of around 70 Million records if i go with the Horizontal schema, and i have around 20 expressions, so the number will be huge if i will go vertically with less columns.

what do you think is the best approach?

I should prefer Horizontal but it is better to ask to the final user which format is better for his analysis

i know the cross table and if i will go horizontally i will have to use it, but the question is to go horizontally or not, considering the huge number of records that i will end up having.

for the user format it will be the same whether it is horizontal or vertical. the method of calculation will be different but the result will be the same.
