Exporting to Excel

Hi All,

I have 10 sheets in my test.qvw file.

Each sheet contains several objects like Straight table,Pivot table and some other charts.

Whenever I exported to excel " In Excel not able to filter the data like

Ex: If i have Transaction date field in my table, it was exported to excel not able to filter the data in excel like year wise, month wise and date wise.

How can i over come that issue,please suggest me.

What I think is happening is that the dates are coming into Excel as test.

In Excel, change the format of the column to Date. Then do Data|Text to Columns and click Finish to convert the text to a date.

how can we do in qlikview means chart (or) table itself.

Hi venkey,

When you export to Excel, all data have the same format than QlikView. But, when you have a lot of data, this format is lost.

If the format that has the date on QlikView does not exist in Excel, so Excel can not understand and export it as a date, and you can not filter.

Review your format in number tab.

Hi,

I had this issue recently and checked on the forum and found the following help.

Sorry, I cannot find the link and do not take credit for this.

1. Click on settings

2. Document Properties

3. Select the Number tab

4. in the field list select your filed name and set the correct format.

5. To maintain the setting after reload, check survive reload.

I think this works only for expressions. If the field is a dimension, the formatting needs to be fixed in excel.
