Expressions in variables without "=" - why?

Hi,

I just want to experiment with putting expressions in variables - no, I've done it before. It's no big deal and in my book "QlikView 11 for developers", it is pretty clearly explained.

<=> There is one detail about it I haven't yet quite understood:

=> Why is it that you should NOT put an "=" in front of an expression in a variable? The book says that in that case it would be created "globally" - I don't quite understand what that would mean.

Could anyone explain to me just what would happen if I were to use an "="`?

Thanks a lot!

Best regards,

DataNibbler

Hi Aunez,

no, I haven't read it - I don't have as much time as I'd like to to browse around here, there's just so much worth reading and looking at, and new stuff comes in continuously all the time...

I will print that and read it on the train. It seems well worth reading as I think this will really expand my knowledge and capabilities in dealing with set_analysis.

Thanks a lot!
