Handling Currency Conversion & Daily Exchange Rates in Qlik View

Dear Members,

We are new to Qlik View, and are Implementing a Qlik View Dashboard, we are stuck with the Currency Conversion / Exchange Rate

The Transactional Data which comes from the Source System, has lines items in multiple currencies, which we have to convert into EURO Currency. The Daily Exchange Rates will be provided by the Client in an Excel Sheet. Can you please guide, as to how do we go ahead with this. We will get a new exchange rate file every day. Based on the Date in the Transaction Data, the system should fetch the exchange rates, and convert the other currency Values in EUROs. Can you please guide of these kind of standard Currency Conversions / Exchange Rates scenarios are being handled in Qlik View.

We found one thread, which talk about the exchange rates. http://community.qlik.com/thread/35248

But this doesnt talk about the date of exchange rates / daily / monthly exhange rates, as exchange rates will be different on different dates, in our scenario.

Regards

Pankaj

Simply associate (or join) both tables on the date and currency fields.

Hi Wassennar,

Can you please explain a little more. May be if you can provide a link to some documentation.

But this doesnot talk about Currency conversion aspects. We have gone through that.

Good. Then you now know how Qlikview associates tables. So, associate your exchange rates table and your transactions table on the data and currency fields.

Normally, if you want the currency to change as time goes on you should change the source of currency (Excel file or database table) and then reload it to your QVW file.

You can try partial reload after changing your source data of currency (say 5.3 to 5.6).

There is another way, you can define the field 'Currency' as Variable or InputField.
