How to get user's Email address in Active Directory to sent email in publisher?

Hello,

I have an AD server and a qv publisher server. Both servers are in the same domain.

How to get user's Email address in Active Directory to sent email in publisher?

Thanks a lot!

If you have a Exchange server you can configure it to add email adress to the user in ldap. Then you can add the user in the distribution task and distribute via email. Google finds some scripts you can use to generate for all existing user the email on other filled ldap fields, like firstname.name@domain.com. Groups can have there own email adress, so you must add all users in distribution.

You can also add mail address manually to every user.

Hi Jonas ,

Thanks for your reply.

We have no exchange server in test machine. Could we still get mail address from Acitve Directory? How?

If you have Mail in LDAP you can use the normal QlikView directory service connector to get it, its a part of a user if you enter a user QlikView can send a mail.

But if you have it not in the LDAP right now there is bad work in front of you. If it is only for testing, use for the mail test some other user directory like odbc or custom. There you can import/build user with mail adress very quikly.

If you want look on youre ldap you can use LDAP Browser, there is a free version in the www.

Hi,

You can also build a table in QV that has the Email address and use that.
