1.Set Analysis is filtering technique whereas Comprehensive Analysis  you can compare   dimension to dimension in single chart only

using Group A , Group B you can define the sets of dimensions in Comprehensive Analysis

Please find attached pdfs.

Hi nail,

Set Analysis:

Normally aggregation function always agergate the values.

Based on possible records or you want pass  the value dynamically at run time.

For,

Sum({${<Year ={$(vLastYear)}>} sales.

This is three category,

Identifier, Operator, Modifier.

Comparative analysis:

Comparison between Two Companies A and B.

Compression between Last Year Sales VS Current Year Sales.

Last Quarter Sale Vs This Quarter Sales.(you need create Alternate State.)

PFA..

Raja.

Hi Anil ,

Set Analysis is Qlikview Solution For implementing Several Business requirements like

Comparative Analysis , What if Analysis , Over due tends , Bucket Analysis and Aging Analysis  etc.. What ever the business is..

Comparative Analysis is a user Requirement for business .. in That Comparisons (y to Prev Y , M to PM , Location wise Comparisons)  like that..

We can implement Comparative Analysis through Set Analysis.

I think U get it.

Set Analysis – Why?

• Very powerful functionality for comparison analysis.

• This year vs. last year

• Products purchased vs. not purchased

• May eliminate the need for additional, complex coding

within an application

• No need for data islands (but data islands sometimes useful in

conjunction with sets)

• Reduces the need for macros

The Above are nothing But Business Requirement , To implement that kind of requirement we need Set Analysis.

Suppose We can Use IRON  for manufacturing Vehicles , Machines , rods etc..

If U ask Me what is difference between IRON and machine , I tell u We can manufacture A machine with IRON .

Again U asking me A machine having lot of Iron ...

then What is the difference between Machine and IRON..

Now U tell me What is the comparative Analysis and Set Analysis
