Inputfields and Shared Objects

Hi,

I was trying to use Inputfields without any good results (Qlikview 8.5), I configured all like the documentation show, but it still doesn't work, so I checked my license and I found the follow lines:

DISABLE_AJAX;YES;;
DISABLE_COLLABORATION;YES;;
DISABLE_DMS;YES;;

My question is, the line DISABLE_COLLABORATION;YES is the reason of my problem? I have to pay for getting that utility?

Thanks in advance.

Hi, Magv.

What kind of type license do you have?

If you have a Small Business Edition for QlikView Server then unfortunately, in this edition of the collaboration work is impossible.

But, as said Stephen, InputFields didn't relevant witj Collaboration option.

and...

I think that new values of inputfields (or variables, if value was changed through InputBox Object) are stored only during the session and there is no longer retained after its completion, and is not displayed to other users.

best regards, Anatoly

Hi,

That shouldn't be a problem - collaboration is to do with the ability of users to create their own objects on the server and then allow other users to get access to them. InputFields will work in the developer client so collaboration is irrelevant.

Can you post some code?

Here is a simple implementation of InputFields.

Hi Stephen,

Thanks for you answer, I have tried with your demo and the result is the same that I had before with my tests.

I have attached a word file with screenshots of my process and the INPUT DEMO.QVW.Shared file generated by Qlikview when I try to change some value. It shows the change made but when I open the document again the value is the original.

I don't know what is happening.

Thanks in advance for your help and time.

Hi,

Sorry but I haven't seen that happen before - I assume that you are using a server document?

That's right sparur,

I have a small business edition ... so, that's the reason but I didn't know about this limitation.

Thanks for all, guys.

In case this info helps.

I've tried this on the QVS 9 SR2 and client 9 SR2, with open in server.

InputField Values are retained from session to session, for the same user and exists separately for every user.

SBE.

Hi all,

I also have problems with input fields in QV SBE Server (v. 9.0.7469.8). Input fields are NOT retained from session to session.

What may be the problem? Was it supposed to work?

Thanks.
