Hi there,
I just come across an scenario and would like to hear experts opinion on the same.
i have the Qlikview server edition and no of CAL are 10.
Scenario is like,I have the end users who use this CAL and view the application on browser.
Lets assume now, i have a user who view the application on internet explorer. so now my user want to download the application which he/she is viewing on browser and take the downloaded application to offline (i.e when he/she not connected to network) and to do analysis. When ever the user comes back and connected to the network he/she might use browser to view the latest refreshed applications.
How would we achieve this?
Appreciate the inputs/suggestions..!
Thanks in advance

Yes, user would be having desktop version on their laptop. but will desktop version take the browser CAL which the user use to see the application on brower? or we have to use one more new CAL for desktop version also?(i.e lease the new license for desktop version from server?)
Should it takes up two CAL? one for browser and one for desktop version?
A single leased user CAL will work for both the browser and desktop version. Only one CAL per user will be required.

Does the user have the QlikView Desktop version instead on their desktop? There is a setting on the server to allow users to download the application. That way they can download and analyze it offline.
thanks for your quick reply kristen.

thanks Kristen & Rob.
Rob, if user could access the document without any additional CAL, then should the user always connected to server or any time limits for desktop cal expiry ?

Hi
The license is borrowed for 30 days, but if the computer is able to "see" the server (I mean, something like ping), the license is automatically renewed for 30 days more
Rgds
So, my conclusion would be now is that, my user could work with the browser and desktop version with the same CAL more over he could work on offline applications with same CAL but the user has to at least connect the server once in 30 day.
Pl. correct me, if my understanding is wrong....
Thanks Héctor Muñoz..! and thanks every one...!
Hi, that's correct, also you can check the time of expiration in this section
Rgds
Ps. remember to verify the answer to share with other user with your same question
I could able to test my scenario.
Its was taking only one CAL and as Héctor Muñoz said, License which has been leased will long last upto 30 days.
Thanks all for all your inputs and time.
