Is there a way to hide/encrypt QV Script

Hello,

I have a requirement where we want extra security on a particular qvw.

The issue is with hiding the  script. If you take a qvw and right click and open it in notepad, you can see there are metadata related to the script within that. Even if you place the script within the Hidden script, it still shows if you right click the qvw.

Is there a way to hide/encrypt this information?

Have you tried creating the script as a separate file and using the Include statement to load the script into the application.

do you have any suggestions as to how to encrypt that external script file?

No, in our case access to the scripts is controlled by windows file permissions.

I am a little confused on this one, as there is no script related meta data, only field info etc., and I am doubtful someone can use that to recreate a script.  If the issue is the security of the field(s), that is a little different story here, and what you may need to look into is the OMIT function in Section Access in that case to try to block that out, but I am guessing at what you are really trying to accomplish here, so if you can provide more details around the use case and what/why you want to hide/mask things, I may be able to come up with something else.

In regard to encrypting the Include Files, that could be done, but it would be necessary to have hardware based encryption, software generally is too slow in decryption of things such that it may cause issues with the reloads from what I recall.  Sorry I do not have something better for you.
