Boy, you really have 9.5? My God, how time flies !!!

;-))

What does it say? Are you getting an error? If yes, which one? Can you still open it in 8.5?

Do you have a section access in the application? Open it in 8.5, deactivate it and try to open again in 9.0.

Well, I could'nt know THAT. Can't you even temporarily install 8.5 evaluation on another machine? I'm afraid we're not getting ahead if we can't do that. In fact, we even don't know if it would work in 8.5 NOW (perhaps you're now working as a different OS user ... but that's already too much guessing). Besides, I wonder whether QV 9 PE is supporting section access at all ..

Hi guys, I would like to know whether QV9 PE allow us to open files developed in other QV Versions. Heard that It only allows to work with applications developed in the same, not sure though.

I tried to open an old 8.5 file now with 9.0 PE and it gives me the error:

Access denied.
The file was created by a licensed QlikView user and sinece you are using aQlikView Personal Edition you may not open this file.

Murugavel, is THIS the "error" you are getting???

Yes, I have only the trial version of QV 8.5. I have developed lot of documents in 8.5.

Once its expired i dowload the QV 9.0 PE. I am unable to open that file.

You can try one thing as beister suggested. Install the QV8.5 trial version in some other machine. Open your application and export the script. Now create a new application in QV9 and load the script from the qvs file. Hope this may work. If QlikView denies even that, then you have to manually copy paste the script. TRy to know what all limitations are imposed on QV9 PE. Develop an application in PE and try to open it QV8.5. Just for knowing whether QlikView supports that.
