Hi All,

If i have 500GB data in my source, how much it will reduce in our application ie 1GB or 2GB, How it will reduce the data in qlikview?

what is the process to reduce data in qlikview?

==========================================================

How it will store the data in qvd means which format it can store the data?(Numbers format or CSV format)

and How it will compress the data upto 10 to 90% of data compressed in qvd? how it will do that?

please help me out this issue..

Thanks in advance.

Thanks

Hi Venkey,

Usually, it will reduce half of your data size.

So, if your source data is 500GB when you load the data it will reduce it to 250GB in the QVD layer.

The QVD file formats are stored in RAM which are basically Binary formats.

Please have a look at this thread.

Hi,

First of all, QlikView will remove any duplicates of each field creating a symbol table.

Then numeric values are stored into binary form.

There is no the one and only compression ratio. it will greatly depend on your data.

If you've got only unique numbers, you probably won't see any reduction in size, and maybe even a larger QVD.
