QVW keeps crashing when I try to edit it

Dear all,

I am having a lot of troubles with the editing of an application.

It contains quite some data, but the qvw size is limited to 300 MB more or less; I don't think it's a lot.

I even copied it to my desktop (instead of opening it from the shared drive), but often when I make a small change, QV crashes.

Is there some tips and tricks to overcome this?

thanks!

Hi,

What version of qlik you are on?

Can you try be opening file without data and save the entire file with different name.

Dear Mohammed,

im on version 11.20.12018.0 SR3.

If I open the file without data, this creates problems, because the file is refreshed by IT team on their servers.

if I make changes, I need to save changes and publish the file on the server.

And if I publish the file without data, the users cannot use the file!

Is there another way?
Otherwise I am gonna do this way suggested by you on a low-usage day.

thanks!

Hi,

Where are you editing this file on server or local machine?

If local machine do you have enough ram to process?

Try by editing on server?

try  by repairing your qlikview desktop.

I transfered the file from server to local machine, which is used solely for QV reporting.

the CPU is a i5-2400 and 4gb RAM, windows 7 64 bit (but QV 32bit )

Hi,

Did you try to modify on qv server machine.

I would suggest you to use 64 bit of qv installer, as it has more capabilities to handle data.
