QlikMaps not working on QlikView Server

I created an application that uses the free QlikView QlikMaps extension object.

This works wonderfully on my local machine but not on the server (Access Point)

This is what I did:

a) Ported the application on Access Point on the QlikView server

b) Copied the "qlikmap" folder from C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\QlikViewServer\Extensions\Objects\qlikmap on my local machine to:

C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\QlikViewServer\Extensions\Objects on the server

I can see the object properties on the map (which means that the object has installed OK on the server) but it does not appear to communicate with the supplier (OpenStreetmaps.org).

Has anybody had similar issues with this issue?

Thanks in advance

Alexis

Does your server have http access to the internet? It may be blocked by your firewall or internet appliance.

Thanks Rob.

Using the browser on the server I can communicate with the outside world with no problem.

I presume that the way that Qlikmap works is that it sends an API request or a URL request and received back an XML of some description. What I am not aware is if there is anything blocking the results being returned and I have no idea how to check that!!

Thanks for your input

Try using the browser on the server -- with the same userid as is running the Qlikview Server service.

How was this issue resolved. Even i am facing a similar issue with Qlikmaps not working on the server. But when opened through client it works fine.

Thanks

very likely your company proxy server causes that. You can install a free http sniffer tool Fiddler and check the header request / response to a mapping service.
