QlikView Master Calendar with diffrent Date sources

Dear Community,

I did not find an answer to my question in the current Blog, so I hope someone can assist.

With my current application I've connection several tables with dates.

For example:

CRU Steel market

PLATTS Iron Ore

PLATTS Cocking Coal

etc.

For each table I've create:

- Monthname

- Year

- Month and so on....

After all the result is a synthetic key with Monthname, Year....

How can I create a master calendar over all tables? To reduce or avoid the synthetic key?

My thought are:

- Naming all Date Filed as $DATE

- Create a Monthname etc. on the linked $DATE....

Is that logical?

Thanks for support

BR Michael

Well, it worked. You now have a TempCal table that contains dates from your other tables. And it's not linked to your other tables so it's now a data island. That's the third scenario you could use. Select dates in your TempCal data island and use triggers to select the dates in your other tables. See attached examples.

Hi Gysbert,

thank you for the answer.

Unfourtanatly my problem is not fixed.

I like this thread.

http://community.qlik.com/thread/66717

But it means that I nead a primary keay in each table.

The tutorial from Hendric suggest a "own" Date for each Table.

That is something I dont want.

Each table has a own named Date field

Like:

HCCDate

IODEXDate

DollarDate

ScrapDate.

But I want one major table, like a concat. table for all dates.

Does it makes sense`?

Hi Gysbert,

I found that:

http://community.qlik.com/message/274922#274922

That is what I want to do, but that does not work!?

If named my tables in a test simillar. See attached

TempCal:

Load

Date as CommonDate

from Daily sales

concatenate

I helped myself with a resident load. Is that correct?

I will add the QV Testfile.

Hi

How you have triggered other dates with common date in "salestodate12.qvw" file.

Thank you.
