QlikView load adds "_x005F" character string

I have a script that loads field names from an Excel (xlsx) document that we use to extract data from a database. In this specific case the fields contain _0020_ codes. In QlikView these names will be converted to user friendly names. But when loading the field names QlikView adds _x005F to the names.

For example 'Geldig_x0020_tot' becomes 'Geldig_x005F_0020_tot'

I now solve this with a replace function, but is there a way to prevent this from happening at all?
